Each year on the first Friday in October, and with events continuing throughout the month, MFG Day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders.

This year, the day of recognition will officially take place on Friday, October 4.

In the Katy area, a variety of manufacturers are thriving across a wide variety of industries.  Manufacturers like Igloo, Schlumberger, Sercel, TMEIC, Pepperl+Fuchs and Vahle along with over 330 other manufacturers that employ over 13,000 people, call the Katy area home. Many companies have located or expanded here recently and many intend to keep expanding.   Manufacturing is a primary economic activity and an industry sector that continues to grow adding to the economic diversity of business in the Katy area.

The Katy Area Economic Development Council would like to extend its appreciation to Katy area manufacturers for the great employment opportunities and tax base they provide to the Katy area community.

“We are thrilled with the manufacturing growth we continue to see in our area,” said Katy Area EDC President/CEO Lance Lacour. “We welcome all manufacturers, big and small, to discover why the Katy area is a great place to do business.”
