Resources for Existing Businesses

The Katy area and the state of Texas have created dynamic and growing economies with the help of a pro-business tax structure and pro-business climate. Some key features of the tax and business environment include: no state income tax on persons or businesses, no local income or occupational taxes on persons or businesses, a low franchise tax, a strong tort reform law and Employment-At-Will and Right-to-Work laws. Katy Area EDC works diligently to aid companies in exploring tax incentives and maximizing monetary efficiency for relocations and expansions.

Visit the Incentives and Financing portion on our website for the latest information on growing your Katy area businesses.

Katy Area EDC continues to monitor ongoing developments related to COVID-19 and its impacts on the Katy area business community.

For the latest information, please visit of COVID-19 Resource Guide.

Katy Area EDC also continues to offer the community with Katy Open for Business, an online tool that enables local businesses across the region to communicate with customers for free in real time.

Businesses can list themselves for free on the site to help residents find the businesses and services they need. The businesses can provide customized details including websites, modified hours, delivery or curbside pickup options, promotions and gift card stimulus programs. Residents can search for area businesses by categories, including grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, health facilities, hardware stores, pet stores and automotive shops, among others.

The tool can be accessed here.
