We’re home to over 200 corporate headquarters across a broad spectrum of manufacturing and industrial sectors, research and development testing laboratories, and of course, energy.
The Katy area is energy-centric, proud to call ourselves home some of the largest companies in the industry, such as BP North America, Shell and Wood, employing over 55,000 people.
The area is where energy works and lives! We draw from a civilian labor pool of over 2.0 million that is predominately white collar, but diverse enough to handle any type of work. An estimated 40% of all engineers in the Greater Houston area live in the Katy area.
In addition to serving the energy market, we are home to a workforce of over 350,000, employed in office and administrative support positions with companies such as Medline, Academy Sports and Outdoors, GEICO and Igloo, among many others.
