FM 1093 widening
Work to widen FM 1093 from a two-lane road to a four-lane road with a median continues. For phase 2A, Fort Bend County is paving the westbound lanes from FM 1463 to the main entrance to Cross Creek Ranch, Fort Bend County engineer Richard Stolleis said. For phase 2B, the Texas Department of Transportation began prep work Dec. 10 and construction in early January on the lanes from Cross Creek Ranch to James Lane, TxDOT construction inspector Kurt Lehmann said.
Timeline: March 2017-March 2019

Gaston Road widening
This project will expand Gaston Road from Greenbusch Road south of Katy Flewellen Road. The existing two-lane asphalt road will be reconstructed as a four-lane divided concrete road with underground stormwater drainage. Construction crews are installing the storm drainage system and will then begin installing the concrete, said Stacy Slawinski, Fort Bend County assistant engineer.
Timeline: July 2018-third quarter 2019

Cane Island Parkway widening
Now that the project to build a new two-lane road connecting Cane Island Parkway and FM 1463 in Katy is nearly complete, Fort Bend County is in the design phase for widening the two lanes to four lanes, Slawinski said. Construction is expected to start in the second quarter of 2019.
Timeline: second quarter 2019-fourth quarter 2019

First Street improvements
Construction crews will begin improving the mobility of First Street once new sewers and storm inlets are installed from the Cane Island Branch to Cane Island Parkway, A. Bartlett Road to Carolina Street will be expanded to a two-way, three-lane concrete road with a turn lane. B. Bartlett Road to Cane Island Parkway will receive 5-foot-wide sidewalks that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act. There will be four phases of road closures during the project.
Timeline: November 2018-November 2019
Cost: $4.5 million
