Willow Lane closes for 4 weeks due to construction

Willow Lane, located in Katy, officially closed Feb. 1 to make way for construction.

The temporary road closure was unanimously approved at the Feb. 2 Fort Bend County Commissioners Court meeting. The closure is estimated to take about four weeks, according to agenda documents.

The construction project aims to expand Katy Flewellen Road from a two-lane road to a four-lane road in order for more cars to be able to drive on the road. The Katy Flewellen expansion begins on Willow Lane and extends to just north of Gaston Road, as previously reported by Community Impact Newspaper.

The construction is set to be completed in May and will cost $3.4 million, according to Fort Bend County.

“??The closure is to complete the proposed pavement for the intersection at Willow Lane and Katy Flewellen Road,” Michael Boenig of Allgood Construction Co. said via agenda documents.
