Drainage improvements are coming to the Katy Heights neighborhood in 2025.

The overview

At a Dec. 9 meeting, Katy City Council approved a nearly $5.1 million construction contract with Environmental Allies LLC for the Heights, Airline and Drexel Drainage Improvements Project to improve water flow with a majority of work planned for Drexel Drive, City Engineer David Kasper said.

The project comes after city staff heard complaints from residents over a period of several years, Mayor Pro Tem Chris Harris said.

The project area is between Airline and Drexel drives on the east and west, and Franz Road and Fourth Street on the north and south, respectively.
