The Houston-Galveston Area Council, which serves as the metropolitan planning organization for the Houston region, is taking public input for the 2045 iteration of its regional transportation plan.
The organization said in a May 3 press release that it would host in-person meetings throughout the metro area as well as a virtual meeting in June. The public can provide comment through a digital survey on the H-GAC website or by emailing publiccomments@h-gac.com or calling 1-855-363-2516.
The H-GAC uses long-term regional transportation plans to prioritize which infrastructure projects will receive funding in the Houston area. Short-term transportation improvement programs span four years and track federal funding.
The following meetings will be held in person, representing each of the eight counties the H-GAC serves:
May 5: The Fort Bend County meeting will take place at 2700 Town Center Blvd. N., Sugar Land, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 10: The Brazoria County meeting will take place at 3519 Liberty Drive, Pearland, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 12: The Liberty County meeting will take place at 1829 Sam Houston St., Liberty, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 17: The Galveston County meeting will take place at 715 30th St., Galveston, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 19: The Waller County meeting will take place at 635 Hwy. 290, Hempstead, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 24: The Montgomery County meeting will take place at 29945 I-45, Shenandoah, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 26: The Harris County meeting will take place at 3555 Timmons Lane, Houston, from 6-7:30 p.m.
May 31: The Chambers County meeting will take place at 12450 Eagle Pointe Drive, Mont Belvieu, from 6-7:30 p.m.
Additionally, the H-GAC will host a virtual meeting June 2 from 1:30-3 p.m. for all counties to take part.
The deadline for the digital survey is June 30, but an H-GAC spokesperson confirmed the email or phone call comments could be taken at any time.
