Porter Road reconstruction

Porter Road is being rebuilt in two half-mile segments. When complete, the 20-foot-wide asphalt street will be a 28-foot-wide concrete roadway with underground storm sewer system. From Franz Road to a bridge about a half-mile north, crews are finishing underground drainage and will start pouring concrete, Harris County engineer Jennifer Almonte said. From the bridge to Morton Ranch Road, crews are finishing an east detour lane and will begin placing concrete on the west side.

Gaston Road widening

The project to expand Gaston Road from Greenbusch Road to Katy Flewellen Road continues. When complete, the street will be widened from a two-lane asphalt road to a four-lane divided concrete road with underground storm water drainage. Crews are placing concrete pavement in sections to maintain access to adjacent properties, Slawinski said. Once the north half of the road is completed, traffic will switch to allow for paving on the south half of the road.
