Business Growth, News

In an era of fluctuating logistics costs and shifting demographics, Chad DeBoer aims to give businesses the data they need to take the “gut feeling” out of critical business decisions. That’s why DeBoer founded  Wolverine Process Improvement to provide businesses with the information and analytics they need to operate at peak efficiency.

Backed by a veteran team with over a century of combined experience, WPI leverages advanced modeling and site selection analytics to help partners in the distribution, manufacturing, and retail sectors determine exactly where to plant their roots.

“We specialize in identifying market opportunities,” said DeBoer. “Our goal is to improve a company’s service model while reducing overall operational expense, drastically reducing logistics overhead while ensuring they are positioned in the right demographic pocket for long-term success.”

WPI’s capabilities extend beyond simple consulting to include:

  • Logistics Network Optimization: Streamlining how products move to eliminate wasted effort.
  • Site Selection & Real Estate Research: Partnering with EDCs and Realtors to find the ideal property and navigate the acquisition process.
  • M&A Operational Due Diligence: Safety and Operations, current capacity vs potential capacity analysis
  • Operational Excellence: Lean 6 Sigma - develop Operational Wellness Audits

Building Relationships in Katy

DeBoer's connection to the Katy Area Economic Development Council (KAEDC) began when he was representing a major client seeking opportunities in the Houston area. Through that process, he formed a lasting professional bond with KAEDC President Angie Thomason. Today, that relationship has evolved into a mutual commitment to regional growth.

“The support from the KAEDC has been invaluable,” said DeBoer. “Transitioning to a dedicated firm like WPI requires trust, and having the backing of an organization that truly understands the Katy business landscape makes all the difference.”

It was while doing that last part of the job that DeBoer connected with the Katy Area Economic Development Council (KAEDC). He was working for another company at the time and was working on behalf of a client to find opportunities in Houston. He connected with KAEDC president Angie Thomason, and the two became friends. DeBoer said Thomason has been a big supporter as he has transitioned to being his own boss.

That kind of support is central to everything we do at KAEDC. From bringing in new businesses to helping existing companies thrive and grow, we want business owners, new and established, to have the support they need.
