A Munich-style beer garden will begin brewing at a redeveloped Katy landmark by the end of the year, officials said.
Hadi “Andrew” Nurcahaya, developer of a community-centric gathering space called The Dryer, said the Katy Beer Garden will open on its grounds in November or December.
Steven Salazar, who previously worked with the group who brought the Bayou Heights Bier Garten to life in January, will lead the development of the Katy Beer Garden. Located at 5345 E. Third St., Katy—the beer garden will offer 90-100 taps, wine, cider, cocktails and bar bites. Food trucks will also be on-site, Nurcahaya said.
For a year, the developers cultivated the look and feel of the venue, Nurcahaya said. The entire space is approximately 25,000 square feet, with an indoor bar and cigar lounge, an outdoor patio, and an upstairs deck with a 45-foot oak tree growing through it.
Nurcahaya described the style of the beer garden as “new rustic,” with rusted metals and wrought iron finishes that match the aesthetic of The Dryer in an homage to its past use.

The Dryer is a reiteration of the historic J.V. Cardiff & Sons Rice Drier—which was once the crux of Katy’s local economy, real estate and lifestyles, as previously reported by Community Impact. Its purpose is to encourage local economic growth in alignment with historical preservation. www.katybeergarden.us
