Katy Beer Garden’s owners aim to create an experience reminiscent of Bavarian beer gardens with a Texas twist, according to a news release.

The details

The business is the first phase of The Dryer, a 3-acre development surrounding the J.V. Cardiff & Sons Rice Dryer off Hwy. 90 in Katy.

The business will feature 100 beers on tap; a full cocktail program; a 100-bottle wine list; and various bar foods, such as pretzels and tacos, according to the release from founder and CEO Steven Salazar, who also serves as beverage director.

The beer garden, which will have indoor and outdoor seating, is expected to open this spring, according to the business’s Instagram bio.

The backstory

Salazar comes to the project from the Kirby Group, which is known for projects including the Heights Biergarten, Wooster’s Garden in Midtown and Pitch 25 in East Downtown, according to the release.

He’s also joined by Managing Partner Taylor Percle, former general manager at Heights Biergarten.

What else

The business is accepting applications for various positions; individuals can submit resumes at careers@katybeergarden.us.

What’s next

Upon completion, The Dryer will feature a museum; a gift shop; and a three-story building with a food hall, office space and a banquet hall, according to the release. Katy Beer Garden is being constructed north of the dryers, with a parking lot and entrance off Third Street.
