Texas Workforce Commission: Office of Employer Initiatives Update
20 Mar 2020
Information provided by Texas Workforce Commission
Office of Employer Initiatives (OEI) continues to support our training partners across the state during these difficult times. The OEI and Contracts offices are working together to continue to serve those with active grants, pending approvals and those projects that are in development. In lieu of face-to- face meetings, we are available by phone, MS Teams, Zoom (and possibly other tech tools) for our continued collaboration on projects.
TWC recently shared the following information with employers across the state:
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) encourages employers to enroll in Shared Work program as an alternative to layoffs. The voluntary Shared Work program was developed to help Texas employers and employees withstand a slowdown in business such as the impact of COVID-19.
For more information on the Shared Work Program or to apply for the program visit https://twc.texas.gov/businesses/shared-work
Additionally, please note that TWC now has a “Information for COVID-19” banner on our homepage: https://twc.texas.gov/
