The Home Depot sets April opening date for store inside Katy city limits

Home improvement company The Home Depot is set to open a store soon within Katy’s city limits.

While there are several The Home Depot’s in the Katy area, this is the first inside Katy city limits, which will contribute to the city’s tax revenue, Katy officials said.

The details

The Home Depot sells various home renovation items, including power tools, paint, lawn care items, furniture, kitchenware and decor, according to the website.

The store will feature the company’s new “consumer-friendly layout,” which includes a more flexible checkout and customer service area; specialty showrooms with new merchandising displays and layouts; a large garden center; and new storage areas for customers to pick up their online orders in the store, said Evelyn Fornes, The Home Depot’s senior manager of public affairs, in an email.

What else

Additionally, The Home Depot is the anchor store for several other businesses set to come to the intersection, City Administrator Byron Hebert said at the Feb. 2 Katy Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon. The development features eight additional pad sites for future businesses, he said.
