Pointsmith facility to double space

Pointsmith will more than double the space of its promotional products and services business when it moves to a new headquarters in Situs Companies' PrimeWest Business Park.

The Houston-based company has purchased 10 acres from Situs for a 241,625-square-foot building to be designed and built by The Urban Cos. The park is north of Interstate 10 along Mason Road

Home sales in master-planned communities (MPCs) across the country may be sliding, but evidently that news hasn’t reached Houston yet.

The Bayou City dominated RCLCO’s list of the nation’s top-selling MPCs for 2008, with five local housing developments landing in the top ten.

Cinco Ranch, Telfair and Eagle Springs — all Newland Communities developments — each sold more homes last year than in the previous year.

Energy Crossing gets its first tenant

Opus West Corp. has inked a deal with KBC Advanced Technologies to be the first tenant in its Energy Crossing I development.

The firm will occupy nearly 30,000 square feet on the top floor of the six-story building at Interstate 10 and Texas 6 in the Energy Corridor. The building will be completed in January.

KBC provides consulting and technology services to refining, petrochemical and other processing industries worldwide.

The office will initially house 55 employees and increase that number to 82.
