HOUSTON MPCS DOMINATE
HOUSTON CHRONICLE--MAY 5, 2009
Home sales in master-planned communities (MPCs) across the country may be sliding, but evidently that news hasn’t reached Houston yet.
The Bayou City dominated RCLCO’s list of the nation’s top-selling MPCs for 2008, with five local housing developments landing in the top ten.
Cinco Ranch, Telfair and Eagle Springs — all Newland Communities developments — each sold more homes last year than in the previous year.
Energy Crossing gets its first tenant
Opus West Corp. has inked a deal with KBC Advanced Technologies to be the first tenant in its Energy Crossing I development.
The firm will occupy nearly 30,000 square feet on the top floor of the six-story building at Interstate 10 and Texas 6 in the Energy Corridor. The building will be completed in January.
KBC provides consulting and technology services to refining, petrochemical and other processing industries worldwide.
The office will initially house 55 employees and increase that number to 82.
