Your Help is Needed!
The U.S. Army has announced plans to move the Family of Medium Tactical Vehicles (FMTV) contract from a Sealy, TX-based manufacturer (BAE) to a Wisconsin vendor. This contract has been filled in Sealy for the past 17 years, represents 3,000 Texas jobs and has an annual economic contribution of over $500 million. The bidding process for this contract may have been flawed and is currently under appeal.
The Sealy FMTV Task Force has been formed to help save these 3,000 jobs and we need your help!
Visit DefendTexasJobs.org for information on sending letters to the Secretary of the Army and Secretary of Defense. On this website you can view talking points, videos, send an electronic letter or get information to send letters by regular mail. Over 3,000 jobs are at stake for the region including 1,000 jobs for Katy area residents.
If you need more information, feel free to contact the EDC at (281) 396-2200. Thank you for your assistance on this important matter and please visit DefendTexasJobs.org .
