    Cane Island Parkway Extension

Concrete pavement is being installed on the two-lane road under construction to connect Cane Island Parkway and FM 1463 just south of I-10 in Katy. Weather interruptions and additions to the scope of the project have delayed work and increased the nearly $9 million budget by $200,000. Channel improvements to the Willow Fork were added to the project after erosion caused by Tropical Storm Harvey near the new bridge was discovered.

Utility infrastructure is being relocated and road construction is expected to begin in June, lasting approximately one year. This project was one of two project segments included in Fort Bend County’s 2013 mobility bond package. The second segment, from Katy Flewellen Road to Spring Green Boulevard, is not yet complete.
