  • New Tool Provides Metrics for TX-PACE Projects

    The Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) developed a tool that allows viewers to see how TX-PACE projects are reducing energy and water consumption, lowering emissions, and providing significant economic benefits. TPA thanks HARC for this new tool, the Mitchell Foundation for supporting its creation, and the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) for supporting the maintenance of this valuable project.
    Texas Comptroller Provides Videos to Help Local Governments Establish a PACE Program

    SECO, a part of the Texas Comptroller’s Office, posted two videos created by HARC to help Texas counties and municipalities establish local PACE programs, creating a uniform model for Texas.

    New Tax Bill Complements TX-PACE

    How does the new tax bill affect your upcoming energy efficiency project? There may indeed be some positive effects, in the form of bonus depreciation for certain qualified business expenses. New HVAC and roofs were added to this provision.
    Specifically, Section 179 raises the cap on deductible business investments to $1mm.
    100% of the cost of these qualified items can now be expensed immediately.
