IT firm StratITsphere Data Center Solutions bringing its headquarters to Katy

KATY, TX - StratITsphere, an infrastructure-focused consulting and services firm, is announcing it will move its headquarters to the Katy Area.
Stephen Webster, StratITsphere's President and CEO, said StratITsphere chose Katy because it has an "excellent location with good fiber access, excellent access to the Energy Corridor, and support offered by the Katy Area Economic Development Council." The StratITsphere facility will be located at 1510 Primewest Parkway, a former industrial building covering 94,000 square feet and seven acres.
The location will serve as a Tier 4 carrier-neutral data center co-location facility and a network access point (NAP).
StratITsphere has decades of expertise providing consulting and solutions across the energy industry, including oil and gas, pipeline, refining, power, utilities, and energy/commodities trading. The Katy-based facility initially will employ 10 to 15 people, and may eventually hire up to 35 employees. StratITsphere is currently engaged in projects with some of the largest energy companies in Houston.
Lance LaCour, president and CEO of the Katy Area Economic Development Council, said StratITsphere's presence in Katy will bring a number of valuable benefits to the Katy area including over $10 million in capital investment. "The Tier 4 infrastructure will act like a magnet for recruiting other corporate data centers and IT firms to the Katy area," LaCour said. Katy Area EDC identified incentive and training assistance for the Company and will continue partner with StratITsphere to recruit other IT firms, corporations and their data centers to the Katy Area.
